Catherine started her riding career as a young girl in Illinois. She moved to New Zealand in 1993 and began Pony Club and focused on eventing. After high school she earned a certificate of sport horse management for a year of study at the Waikato Polytechnical College that is equivalent to the BHSAI. She continued to show her own horses in dressage as she attended the University of Auckland, earning a national ranking in the New Zealand Young Rider program.

After returning to the US in 2002, Catherine began her training career, earning her USDF Bronze medal in 2006, Silver medal in 2008 and Gold medal in 2012. Catherine also was invited to, and participated in the USDF Advanced Young Rider Graduate program in 2004.

Catherine regularly competes horses to the FEI level earning regional championships and Horse of the Year Awards at all levels from Materiale to FEI. Catherine also regularly competes in the National FEI Young Horse and Developing Horse Championships and at the CDI (International) level on the West Coast. As a motivated trainer and rider, she rides regularly with top quality clinicians such as Conrad Schumacher, Christine Trauring, Scott Hassler, and other USA High Performance coaches. She continues to find the most enjoyment in progressing young and remedial horses as well as developing and promoting stallions to the top levels of dressage. Students find her teaching style positive and highly energetic as well as practical.
